Maybe you face the same choice I did. The Rode or the Deity. To complicate matters there are various versions of both. I use a Sony camera, right now the APS-C 6400 but moving to the full frame A7iv as soon as I can get one.
I chose this Deity and happy I did. The differences between the higher-end Rode and this Deity are minimal except for $100 I can put in my pocket. This model allows me to control the gain from the mic and battery seems fine.
Sound quality is great. Of course this is not a $500-$1000 mic. I don't need that for the videos I produce, I am not doing professional music and I go directly into the camera most times and not to a pre-amp or mixer.
If your use case is the same, this is a great choice.
It's a good piece of kit as a back-up or if you are filming GV's. For pro interviews it's a tad lacking in my opinion but great for everything else. Nice and light and easy to use.
I love the sound coming out of this mic! Clean and just enough of everything! I also love the price. Way more affordable than Rode's mic! I recommend this to anyone looking for a Vlogging mic!
