The Best 8-inch Tablet, period.
I don't care what "experts" say about other brands -- the Samsung Tab Active3 is still the best 8-inch tablet on the market. Bar none. First, it's military rugged. With its tough body with an inner magnesium-alloy frame, it's rock solid. And, it's the perfect size for holding in your hands while nicely viewable with a large-enough screen. Second, for its reasonable price, the tablet is fast and smooth. Third, the display is super nice. Fourth, you can do both wired and wireless DeX (unlike the newer Tab Active5 which can only do wireless). Dex gives you a PC Windows-like experience which is awesome for serious heavy-duty work on the tablet. That was the deal-clencher for me. Wireless Dex on the Active5 is laggy. Wired is way better with no lag. Fifth, Active3 comes with USB 3 whereas Active 5 is only USB 2, which is a downgrade. I don't know what Samsung was thinking with their dumb decision, but Active3 is better than Active5 in almost every aspect except 5G. But, 4G capability of Active3 is plenty fast for me. great concept poorly executed
the touted rugged case greatly inhibits changing the removeable battery which is difficult enough to do even without the additional impediment of the case. the case is not as rugged as I wished. the s-pen holder built into the case is so tight you will want a pair of pliers os access it. with or without the rugged case the active3 is too slippery to set down on any surface that is not level and flat. funky buttons and sd-card access don't help either.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
