Purple Rain is the sixth studio album by Prince, the first to feature his backing band The Revolution, and is the soundtrack album to the 1984 film of the same name. Purple Rain is regularly ranked among the best albums in music history, and is widely regarded as Prince's magnum opus. Time magazine ranked it the 15th greatest album of all time in 1993, and it placed 18th on VH1's Greatest Rock and Roll Albums of All Time countdown. Rolling Stone ranked it the second-best album of the 1980s and 76th on their list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The first two singles from Purple Rain, "When Doves Cry" and "Let's Go Crazy", topped the US singles charts, and were hits around the world, while the title track went to number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was certified thirteen-times platinum (diamond) by the RIAA.

Great reissue album
Record was clean and nice. A great new repressing. Small bend in the album cover when it arrived, most likely happened when in the hands of the post office. But a great quality piece of vinyl that was important to my collection.

Prince’s piece de resistance!!
Purple Rain is all what Prince was packed into one album: singer, musician and songwriter. The 180 gram vinyl really brings out every note and the packaging is top notch. I would definitely recommend this to a long time Prince fan or someone interested in his music.

Worth it if you're a Prince fan
Most songs play well but the record is slightly warped and skips a bit on a few songs, even though it has no scratches and arrived in unopened packaging.

Not the LP I had in the 80's
When I had this album when it first came out it was quiet different, the album cover was different artwork and there was even a song missing at the end of side 2. I was a big fan in the 1980's and I was very disappointed this album was not an original. It was fun to listen to but not an original "1999" LP.

Excellent Remastered Classic
This is a recent remastered version of the iconic 80's Prince masterpiece. The remastering is well done. It was supervised by Prince at Paisley Park. The sound is in keeping with the original. For me, it is a record well worth buying.
