  • Lotsa features, voice command great for hands free while driving, and lotsa customization.

Nice GPS. Lots of features but some quirks, differences from other brands. I like the voice command, but you still need to learn how to use it if you don't want the first choice for a restaurant to be a car repair business halfway across the country - kinda funny sometimes. Also, some of the complaints others have are sometimes not valid if you just spend some time learning how to get through to the feature you want. Customize for different display information. Big screen is great. Brightness and volume control is great, especially voice command while driving. I give it a 4++ since it is not quite perfect.

  • i like it

the good = great screen size, great definition, good voice, great map colors, great layout of roads, appreciate how gps a feature that says "turn right at next stop light" i do like the road warning signs of traffic delays, school zones, etc. 4 square is a somewhat usable feature, i need more practice to get the best of all it has to offer. the OK = mount could be more stable, and stick to the windshield better. the aftermarket heavy soft pad is very good. the bad= voice command often does not recognize address given. i give it a 8.5 out of 10

  • Big screen, good features

The good, nice bright screen, not hard to use, the really good part is being able to change the route (add waypoints) to where you really want to go without the GPS going bonkers on recalculation. This GPS does a whole lot of stuff I am still learning. The bad: I do not own a smart phone so I had to buy a special charger (GTM-60, say pricey) to get the traffic app to work. Should have been included with the unit

  • Exactly what I wanted.

Beautiful big screen. I love the notifications. My phone connects to GPS and car at the same time, that allows me to use the car connection for music and that of the GPS for notifications. Voice command works very well except when it comes to the final command, "Yes." I have to scream for it to pick it up. I hope future update fixes that.

  • A good tool to have.

Seems to work well. Downloaded new updates. Haven't gone on a trip yet. Installed a mini card for more memory. It has an on screen users manual, and a good size screen. And it talks so you can keep your eyes on the road.

  • great unit

gives very good info BBUT the user guide is in type way too small for me to read. They shipped it out right away, taking time to learn.. I said it is hard to use, that is misleading, I say when I finally learn it, it will be easy to use.

  • Doesn't recognize all vehicle stereo's. Good large screen. Maps find some places and not others?

Can see well because of size. Problem with not connecting to my pioneer vehicle stereo? Doesn't recognize all vehicle stereo's. Had to use in another vehicle that had a JVC stereo. Sometimes can't find addresses, sometimes it does? Hoped for better results. Have older version that easier to use but smaller. Keeping it because to much trouble returning, maybe work better when updated again?

  • Very Helpful but takes some getting used to.

First, the annoying part: you enter addresses much differently than on a Web browser or even a smart phone. This takes a while to figure out and get used to. Now the good parts: Once you understand how to enter addresses, it works fine, the display is big and easy to read, and it is always providing useful information (upcoming streets, current speed, points of Interest). I bought this because I was tired of using my cell phone to navigate and not being able to keep said cell phone someplace I could easily see it. This device is in my car which is a 2009 model so it does not have a backup camera or "Hands Free" for a cell phone, which is now important for Arizona.

  • Exceptional product, exceptional buy!

What an amazing GPS system. I purchased it for my parents to use and they simply adore it! The voice command feature is exceptional for hands free driving directions. Programming is easy and painless and the overall performance of the system is incredible. I highly recommend this for elder users who have technophobia because of it’s incredible ease of use.

  • GREAT! Many improvements over my 2689, but almost same size even though it is 7"

My wife's 2689LMT died so I gave her mine (she was going out of town on a trip and needed it). Started looking for a replacement and found the 61 LMT-S. Looked like it had similar features. Read all of the reviews, especially the negative ones. I had questions whether it had some of the features that I had become accustomed to like the arrival time distance remaining, etc. Some said that they like these, too, but hadn't been able to modify their screen display. WRONG! I was able to setup my screen EXACTLY like I did my 2689. Granted, it is not an easy menu to work with, but I got it done with a little bit of irritation, but I did get it done. Was also concerned with the dash real-estate. Turns out that they reduced the border size so that the unit is about 1/4" taller, with about the same width!! Really happy with all of the new features and the unit in general. Will probably order another for my wife's car! PS. I have a newer SUV, but it has the relatively useless NAVTEC system. They want more each year to update than this one cost! Total waste of money, but I didn't pay extra for it ;-)
