Buy it, you will never have to buy another steering cable
This recent purchase is for my son in-law.
I have had one of these for years to protect the steering cable and have never had to reschedule we the cable.
There is a grease fitting on the front of most outboard that can take steering cables, but that grease fitting is only to grease the tilt mechanism and there is nothing to lubricate the cable. As a result, most rust up an becomes possible to steer, let alone getting the old one out of the tilt tube.
