Late 90's masterpiece of sexiness, Vulcan cannons and attacking the Earth. From the Moon.
Beautiful game that I finally returned to my collection, after a 15 year absence, and it plays as good today as it did in '98. Einhander is difficult, loud, gorgeous, insane and epitomizes the sexiness of the late 90's. Every bit a masterpiece, it's so much more than just that rare Square shooter from back in the day. Twenty years ago, I was enthralled with it, as I am now, and it immediately takes you back to those hazy, lazy late 90's summer evenings, hanging out with friends at Denny's, looking at girls and talking industrial music and PS1. The music, the sounds, it's all an explosive time machine; if you had it then, you loved it. If you balk at the price now, forget it. It's still worth it, and you only live once. Life's too short to put Einhander off for another day. Now that I have another (I only sold it the first time, back in the early 2000s, as I was back in college again, broke and needed to pay rent... in 2005, I got the same for it what I paid now, to show you the market for Einhander; there's demand, it is rare, but there are enough for ALL OF US. This game is truly amazing and I highly highly recommend this title to anyone that loves old school 2D gaming mixed with 3D computer animation along with tons of action, explosions and much more, you can't go wrong with Einhander on Sony PlayStation. 5 stars. Side scrolling shooter robot with a hand ship..... Fun!
Remember when Squaresoft made games that wernt exclusively Final Fantasy? Einhänder does. It's wierd, it's brutal hard, it's colorful, it plays well and does the ShMUP genre justice. Equally influenced by Blade Runner, Robocop, and Japanese manga and anime like Gundam and Robotech, this SHMUP is like non other. Very unique. Looks, sounds, and plays beautifully.
