Good cordless if bought at a discount
I purchased this item when it was discounted. I would never pay fully price for one of these dysons. It performs well, has two speeds. The normal speed is alright but doesn’t pick up nearly as well as the high speed. I haven’t ran into the battery life issue yet that most reviews talk about. I feel if you are using this as your main vacuum you are coming up short in many ways. It works great for cleaning up quickly but for deeper cleanings you need a full size corded vacuum. You can tell if you put it on carpet the suction suffers. I use it around the house on vinyl flooring and the normal speed is ok but I generally use high speed to pick up messes. The attachments are good, however, when you have the small extension wand hooked up with the longer shaft, the entire vacuum wiggles. It’s as if the connections are strong enough and you get the mop handle effect where it sags.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Love It
I bought my first Dyson in 2005. My goodness how I loved it! My daughter owns the V6 cordless and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it works. The place I live in now has carpet upstairs and the rest is wood or tile. The ease and portability of this vacuum is literally a life saver. I have a rare medical condition and the light weight is wonderful. I know some have complained about how long the charge lasts. I knew before I purchased this awesome vacuum the running times. Call me silly, but I really investigate things before making a purchase. Sure longer running time would be great. However not having to lug a heavy corded machine up and down my tri level home is worth so much more to me. I have a cat and it handles her hair very well. This stick cord-free vacuum is now my new favorite home appliance. The charge lasts very long and I am able to vacuum my whole house before it runs out. I love the feature that lets you choose between regular and stronger suction. The regular is great on hard floors and the stronger suction great for carpets. Worth the money.
I have had an upright Dyson for several years and have always been happy with it and its performance. However, due to the acquisition of a puppy I found myself in need of something to use everyday and I thought by now, there must be a competitor in the light weight Stick type of vaccum that would cost less but would work as well. I tried another well known brand that was about half the price of the Dyson and I really tried to convince myself that it was fine. It wasn’t. The Vac is great, picks up everything, easy to use, gets in corners. The only complaint I have is that the usage doesn't last very long. May be 20-25 minutes. And then you have to charge it. It would be great to have a backup battery to charge. If I had to buy a vac again, that's what I would look for. The Last Cordless Vac You'll Ever Need
The Dyson V7 Origin Cordless Vacuum is the handiest vacuum we've ever had. When you're walking through the house and see that someone has tracked in some grass, or you see some pet hair that needs to be cleaned up, you just grab the Dyson, squeeze the trigger and in a few minutes, you're done. If you have mostly carpet, this probably won't be your main vacuum cleaner. Oh, it will clean carpet, but I can't imagine cleaning whole house carpet with it. For the deep cleaning in carpet, you're going to want a larger, plug-in type vacuum. Our home is very large ... 6000 square feet. It's mostly tile and hardwood floors. We rarely use our electric, plug-in vacuum, because the Dyson V7 cleans tile and hardwood floors with ease. We don't have to drag the cord around and find another outlet to plug it in. Also, it does a great job on steps and does edges very well. I like being able to quickly clean up something from the floor, without messing around with cords. I grab the vacuum, clean up what was bothering me, then put the vacuum back ... spending about a minute. Also, V7 comes with a wall mount. You can install the charger into the wall mount and charge your Dyson while it's being stored. You don't have to use the wall mount to charge the unit. The charger is separate, until you install it into the wall mount. RVer's ... this is the perfect vacuum. In a matter of seconds, the Dyson V7 breaks down to fit easily into one of your RV's compartments. This is the reason we bought it ... for our RV, but we use it in the house when we're not camping. Wonderful product! Extremely easy to assemble, use and empty. I was able to do the entire downstairs of my 3900 sq ft home, including staircase, carpet, tile and hardwood floor on one battery charge. I initially purchased it to replace my Dustbuster and swifter sweeper. No filters to replace...just wash every 3 months. Very lightweight. Comes with 2 attachment and storage/hanging rack. Can disconnect the floor cleaning head at bottom and attach the attachments or can remove part of or all of the tube/hose to shorten to do jobs that are in smaller spaces. For example the car, or cleaning the under the sofa cushions or getting the dust off of fan blades. I do have to say I have a regular upright corded Dyson and this got just as much up if not more! Honestly it kind of grosses you out what you will find on your floors/carpets. Especially because we do not wear our shoes in the house and out kitties are indoors only. Lightweight with great features
I have a physical issue that does not allow me to push a full sized traditional vacuum. Prior to Covid I had a cleaning service. Now it is up to me to do the vacuuming. I bought a stick vacuum and even one of the robot vacuums but neither of them actually cleaned the rugs. Then I got a coupon from Dyson and had heard these were great for everything within your home. I purchased the Dyson D7 Motorhead vacuum and can't be happier. I have both hard floors and deep pile wall to wall rugs. This vacuum is great on both. I can't believe the amount of dust and debris it picks up from the depths of my rugs. It is light weight enough for me to use everyday if need be (in the spring the seed pods track in all the time)! Suction not as strong as I expected.
