This is a book anyone can read without tiring, becoming bored or is full of technical terms. After buying this pre-owned copy, I searched online for a trade paper new copy. It wasn't available. Great history
The Panama Canal should be rated as the eighth wonder of the world. Reading this amazing book portrays all that went on to build this canal. Perhaps without the canal we might not have been able to win the second world war. Just my thought. It’s an amazing book and I recommend it for all history buffs. This unlikely book hooked me.
David McCullough is such a good writer that I know whatever he writes will hook me until the last page. I knew little or nothing about the building of the Panama Canal, and cared less, until I started a library copy of this book.
