These are authentic Berkey filters. As always they're a pain to clean, but I have a method that works well which is to seal my water pik against the included soft washer to flush each filter. I flush them for roughly 2 minutes in each direction and I complete that sequence 3x per filter. Works every time to produce clean clear water.
