This is what happens when cost accountants make things better. Cheap and shoddy, end to end. The 'view ports' just let the barrel involve less plastic, which qualifies on both counts. The nibs now are far less robust and do not draw ink well at all; if you can get it writing at all, you have to start all over to prime the flow the next time. The fitment for the ink cartridges is far too large and loose to seal, so when there *is* ink flowing it's not good to put it in your pocket. Hint: At least an older style nib component still fits the threads of the barrel, which may resolve some of these issues and getting it to write isn't a constant recurring battle.
On the other hand, the blue color of the barrel and cap is fairly unremarkable.
