I own a V60, an aeropress, a bodum french press, a moka pot, and now the Hario Switch. The Switch makes by far the tastiest coffee with the amount of texture and body that parallels a french press, but with the clean/crisp aspects of a V60. It is reminiscent of an aeropress, but is an easier/less overhead way of making coffee. It is also equally forgiving as the aeropress, and much easier to use compared to a V60 that can be unforgiving to small imperfections during a pour over session. I find the switch to be truly outstanding. It has become my every day setup, as it offers for me exactly the type of coffee experience I am after: rich texture, full body, light acidity, very forgiving to small mistakes. There are probably an overall less number of ways to brew it compared to a Hario V60, but on the best day a v60 produces coffee that is still below (in terms of what I'm looking for) any of the brews I've had with the switch. If you're a fan of super clean/crisp/light texture or body, then maybe you'd prefer the v60, although in this case you can simply grind coarser and get similar results. Read full review

The Hario v60 Switch is really easy to use and makes good coffee. It’s more forgiving than a simple pour over, allows you to take advantage of immersion brewing like a French press, and most importantly to me, is way easier to clean than a French press. Just lift the filter out and throw it away. Of course the product should be washed with soap and water between uses as well, but the ease of dispensing of the coffee grounds is my favorite part. This really is the best of a pour over and French press combined. I would recommend to everyone looking to brew small to medium quantities of good coffee.

Very easy to use product. Previously used another immersion brewer, but this one gives a better result. with 15g of coffee 1:15 it is very good. Only wish that Hario would produce papers filters that allow a faster flow time.

For those familiar with the V60 method of brewing, this is a great alternative or addition to your brewer collection. The immersion method that Hario offers with the Switch dripper delivers light brew coffees with excellent body and sweetness and draws out the distinct flavors and notes from your high quality beans--as you'd expect from their classic V60 cone. Definitely worth adding to your list of daily-driver brewers!

For people that like their coffee steeped, but do not like the coffee "dust" in their coffee or the clean up of a French press, this device is perfect. I bloom the coffee for around 30 seconds, then fill it to the top and let it steep for 2 minutes... lock down the latch and presto... great tasting coffee... Things to be careful of: 1) when cleaning the device make sure the ball bearing stopper does not fall out (if it does it easy to pop back in... Things that would make it better: A slightly larger capacity
