  • Very Reliable and Simple to use

This is an outstanding printer for the money. The ink cartridges are a little high but then one can find deals on the net for this printer for Ink supply. Print quality is very good and I love the features when scanning a document. I purchased a separate OCR software for editing purposes. Overall, a printer from Epson you won't go wrong. I have been using EPSON printers of all sorts and I can honestly say that I have NEVER had any printer cause me a problem. I will say that I have been using some EPSON printers so long that I could not get any ink cartridges for the printer anylonger. (Printer s were OBSOLETE after 16 Years of use)

  • Epson Printers ~ Quality Products

My first Epson printer was a dot matrix many moons ago. Since then, I have worn out several Epson printers as well as a few other manufacturers brands. This printer is all it says it is and more. It is quiet, fast and the operation is intuitive. The print quality is excellent. For the price, I can't imagine anyone not being 100+% satisfied. An excellent buy.

  • Epson WorkForce WF-3640 starts out OK, ends horribly

Bought one two years ago. Very impressive when new. Even their software set up very nicely and printed wireless from your computers or phones....then the nozzles jam. And are impossible to every get to work again. I bought a second one a few weeks ago, because replacing the printhead is as much another printer and I like the buttons on this one (which are all incorporated into the touchscreen on later models now, in an effort to cheapify the design). The downloadable install software on the Epson website must be corrupted or made to no longer work with anything except current models, because it crashes or restarts computer without installing, in a never-ending repeat of this. I have even tried in safe-mode and disabled every security thing, without any difference. Contacting Epson about this is futile. We are now in a time when elected idiots are chopping away all consumer regulation and consumer protection, so manufacturers can basically function as fringe operators and do whatever they want; including making sure you have to buy a current model printer, which will also fail after light use, requiring you to buy a printhead that is as expensive as the printer....I guess they all want to go to hell one day.

  • Good printer with very few issues

This is a good Epson printer, although a little touchy. You have to be careful that the nozzles don't get dried out and clogged. That's a disaster and means you probably dump the printer. But there are safeguards and the quality output is really good. I like it quite well. I also have a 3620 that I've used for 4-5 years. Both work quite well. Cleaning the nozzles is expensive because it uses quite a bit of the ink - which isn't cheap. Otherwise, a very good buy.

  • Not a dependable printer

I have bought two of these printers and found them very undependable. The ink clogs easily, which I will blame myself for letting it set. But the carriage seems to go off, making it so nothing works on the printer. The second one worked fine at first but the carriage seemed to go off track after a bit. Made me frustrated. I personally will not buy this kind again. And this printer prints good at first, but after a while all the cleaning just will not help.

  • "Inexpensive, but not a good value"

This printer prints well when if works, but it has a constant problem with the ink jets needing to be cleaned. The major concern is that when you install new EPSON print cartridges, the printer will not recognize them, and you have to run a clean printer heads several times before the comprinter accepts the EPSON cartridge. You will be given instructions several times saying the cartridge is not recognized, you need to remove and reinstall the cartridge. Then it will print, but often leaves one or two lines that are fuzzy and not distinct. This is my 2nd WF3640 printer. I debated getting the same printer, but it had received acceptably positive reviews and I assumed the problems I was having with the first printer was idiosyncratic with that printer, and a new printer would be better. But it is not. I have exactly the same problems with this printer that I had with the original printer. IT took 2 of us (one being a professional computer programmer) over an hour working together to get a legitimate print copy with the black ink cartridge. Now it is working 90% of the time, but occasionally I still have to run a second copy to get a clear printed copy Do I recommend it? I have severe doubts about the dependable quality of the printer.

  • Great printer but expect problems

I bought the WF-3640 to replace a WF-3620. The WF-3620 started printing blurry lines and Epson Tech Support couldn't remedy it with instructions to me by phone. Since it was still in warranty Epson sent a replacement at no charge. Then the replacement started printing blurry lines that I could not correct following instructions in the user's manual. It was now out of warranty but I really liked the printer so decided to buy another one. The only difference is the WF-3640 has a second paper tray that prints legal size copies. I gave it three stars because I expect it will start acting up just like the WF-3620 did.

  • Good, reliable printer

This is the 6th time I have purchased this model printer. I use them for personal and business use. The print quality is excellent and due to the age of this model there are plenty of alternate sources for ink including continuous ink supply systems that dramatically reduce the cost of printing. I have been very pleased with the performance of these machines.

  • Big Epson fan - not this unit

I only use Epson printers doing maybe 50,000 printed pages a year per printer on a small business network - the WF 3640 is not my favorite printer. Print quality, when it is having a good day, is good. But the unit has problems holding the quality of the print. Color print is not as good as other Epson printers on my network... This printer, and my first 3640, simply have bad print moments... Printed text is fine, then the print goes bad, then fine again... My WF 845, has the same look, but has much more consistent print quality... By comparison to the WF 3640, my WF 845 is flawless... Even my NX 420, a small desktop unit, outperforms the WF 3640. My recommendation and conclusion after owning 2 different WF 3640: avoid the unit. There are better Epson printers.

  • Great Quality.

Excellent printer like the three feed trays two in front and one on back very useful to me. Prints black and white documents fast too.
