An easy to use, low budget tax software.
It is an okay tax software. I developed Excel sheets to figure out taxes on my rental and small home business, but use the H&R software to verify my calculations and electronically file the returns. I have received zero help from H&R Block despite its claim for unlimited help available. The best bet is calling IRS and hopefully getting the call answered.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

using for a long time, but now curious
the new software has two icon downloads which is not explained in the kit which is delivered. had to call the company to find out that one of the downloads was not appropriate for what I needed. The support person told me what to do, but again I would not have to have called the company if the instructions guided me better. I have been using this software for over ten years, but it has quirks and this year, even worse, as I try to review inputs from the beginning of the filing and see that the software has deleted my previous inputs...quite perplexed, but I will press on and update accordingly.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

H&R Block Tax Software for Federal and State income tax return
I found H&R block tax software is good for general household people for their annual tax return. Tax Software will help and guide you in all the relevant questions that you may have. I got the premium version that allows 5 federal e-returns free (Deluxe version same as well). However, you can download only one State tax forms of your choice. Other short coming is that you cannot increase the font size or zoom the words while working on the computer and that might be a problem for some elderly or who have vision problem.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

HR block business - Impossible to import last yr data
Once i downloaded this software, i was unable to open my previous years HR block business softwares. Also, it wouldnt alow me to import my last year's return, the reason being, the business software only allows you to save in ATX21export file format. It doesn't allow you to save as T21 file format. ATX file format isnt importable. Therefore i spent a lot of time inputing last year's data manually to the 2022 business return. Instruction is you can import last yr data, it is not true. Good, but could be better.
The personal tax side of the program is great! I've been using it for decades. The business side could definitely use some improvement. It does not walk you through the business side step by step. It takes some accounting knowledge to use the business tax software. You may miss out on some business tax advantages, such as section 199A, unless you know to look for it. It won't tell you about it or let you know that your business is eligible. Doesn't work for Trusts
I bought it because I was supposed to be able to form 1041 for my trust with Premium and Business. But it turns out that the Small Business Owners version doesn't support that. Premium worked, Business crashed!
The program installed fine. The business program does not allow you to install the program in directory of your choice.
