  • Excellent AV receiver!

Simple setup. 4K UHD upscaling. And rich sound with more depth than the Yamaha it replaced. Couldn't be happier with this unit. I would buy it again and recommend it highly. You can spend more, but only if you need more power. I have a large living room and this Pioneer is much more than enough...

  • A very decent sounding receiver

I have had this about 2 weeks now and so far I like it very much. I was using a THX 92 Elite before this and though I know there is supposedly about 150 less watts of power, I think the LX500 sounds about equal in power. Must be the D3 design. I find it confusing that when I have Klispch Heresy speakers in front in back, it calls them 'small' in the auto setup. Also the auto setup doesn't push my center channel Infinity as high in power as my fronts, so I had to manually adjust it. I use 4 Subwoofers and it sure does decent on sending a signal to all 4 with two Y adapters. It is a receiver with many functions to set up and a printed manual would be a benefit and should be supplied by all makers of these upper end receivers. It is a pain going online just to read it, and I sure don't want to have to print out a book of pages of which I would only use about 1/4 of. Overall a very nice receiver with excellent sound when adjusted the way you need. A decent value when bought on sale. I have seen some places online, selling it for more than suggested retail price.

  • Power for days, crystal clear sound

This is it, the entry level to the Pioneer SC line with all the latest tech goodies built in. Lacks a few high end features but for the price it cannot be beat.

  • Great features...if one can find them. Not user friendly. The remote is very difficult to use.

I assume this unit will do everything as advertised, but the typical person would find it very difficult to use. The set up was fairly easy but using the remote and reading the directions in the manual would take a genius.

  • Recommended receiver Pioneer Elite SC-LX501

I tried a lot of receivers in the last year and no one had the sound I was searching for. I tried Pioneer Elite VSX-90, Marantz SR7011, Yamaha RX-A3070, Yamaha and Denon AVR-X6300. Now with PioneerElite SC-LX501 finally I found a sound more in the style of my Bryston-Revel stereo system. The detail is perefct in music or movies, I tried with a pair of small Pinnacle BD-500 (it needs subwoofer, but the sound is clear, near to perfect in mid and top frequencies) and my old Revel M12, with the Revels subwoofer isn't necessary. Now for the money I paid $499.99 is a bargain. I didn't think a receiver could sound so right.

  • Great system

Really enjoy this new stereo. My other pioneer the HDMI out went bad. To fix it cost as much as the price on line. So, I got this one and it was an upgrade. Has the wifi, bluetooth, the audio has dolby atmos option. This has 2 HDMI video out puts plus the 2 optical audio put puts! Really love this system.

  • Great sound and features with D3 amp

Device has multi zone which is used to port separate, or same, input to different areas and it works great and was simple to setup. Network features were a bonus and the Bluetooth sounds fantastic. UHD pass-through is also working perfectly. So many options for speaker configuration on this device and the D3 amp helps keep the heat lower than other receivers I have used in the past. The mobile app works as expected. Paid a little extra for all these feature and is well worth it.

  • Awersome recievet

The Pioneer SC-LX501 is a handsome upgrage from an older Pioneer receiver I own. 7.1 Surround sound with Dolby Atmos and networking wireless is the way to go. As soon as I plugged it in I noticed the improved sound quality.
