  • Safety first

This portable hand held unit is good enough to keep in you car all the time. I would recommend this to a buddy. Must have features include: compact, back up light to see screen, scan mode, weather radio & powered both (batteries or cig. lighter)

  • Little radio-Big value

I checked out different brands of hand held CB radios for work, and out of all of them I tried, the Cobra sounded the best, had a better range, sounded okay, and didn’t eat up battery life too fast. Once I received my radio, I put fresh new batteries in it and when I used it at work, all the other operators where calling me on the company radio to talk to the truckers. All the truckers where saying my radio had the most power, and I was crystal clear. Ive used it all week, 12 hours a day and battery level is still full. Haven’t used it on the road, so if it’s this good for a 3/4 mile distance for talking to my coworkers, and over a mile talking to the truckers. I’m very pleased with this purchase. I highly recommend this brand over all the others. And the seller sent it quick…

  • Good radio for the price

I checked out on commercial communications service test equipment. Puts out 3.5w on transmit (plenty), transmit frequency <50 Hz off frequency (read EXCELLENT) excellent receiver sensitivity, receive audio is good and loud. Wx channel is good and loud. Did not yet test external antenna, but I have no reason to believe it will be less than acceptable given a somewhat compromise antenna system (CB and WX) Those who may have had issues need to explore auto electrical system (computer noise) and need to understand the technical issues and challenges that might be encountered when using two way radios in today's very RF-noisy vehicles.

  • Less than impressed.

I had high hopes but when I finally got the handheld I was let down in a hurry. It has no range on transmit or recieve! I tried the mobile antenna and its still terrible. Its got got weather station receive but that's it. Battery life is no good and if you plug it in to use it you get lots of extra static. Really unimpressed with this little cb radio especially being name brand.

  • very good feel, solid, hand-held 40 channel citizens band radio plus NOAA.

Cobra hit it out of the park here. Great radio, easy to use, the magnetic mount for the vehicle is awesome, really pulls the channels in, and is great for transmitting. I love it...Thanx.

Supposed to be a CB. Haven’t heard one person yet. I have no idea if anyone can hear me as I get no radio check. With the short roof antenna it only reaches 3-20 miles at best. With the radio antenna it only gets 3-7 miles. If you are looking for a more powerful unit, keep looking.

  • HHRT 50

Bought these to have some kind of communications between vehicles when traveling and also when in areas without cellular service. Me and my friends bought a couple of these and finally got to use them this past weekend when we did a little off roading. We used the included car rooftop magnetic mount antenna and they worked very well. When the terrain was flatter we could go about 1-1.5miles from one another and still have clear comms. But once the terrian got more hilly that distance became shorter but still gave us comms between vehicles because there was no cellular service where we were. Just as long as we didnt get to far from one another in those hilly terrian we were good. If you need comms and dont want to spend too much money these seem to be a good route to go. With included car lighter adapter and able to use AA or AA rechargeable batteries this will keep you in the game.

The rubber antenna has a bit to be desired not much range. The magnetic one we were able to reach approx 4 miles . I recommend this product.
