Installation was a breeze. Be very careful that no part of the coils contacts the flywheel magnets. CAREFULLY rotate the flywheel several times to make sure. This conversion replaces a big boo boo by the manufacturer, powered coils. I will add, a recent problem with this type coil (non powered) was ONLY a matter of dirt and corrosion on the coil pickup surface and flywheel. If you have a problem, don't complicate it, clean everything up and re gap the coil to flywheel magnet clearance. Get ready for how well the engine now starts.

I searched for a long time for a new coil for my Kohler 26hp tractor engine that had lost a cylinder (no spark). I finally figured out that the original coils are crap and this kit is needed to replace them. Installation is simple, simple. The instructions are really good. You will need a .010 inch feeler gauge - available on eBay!

Like everyone has stated, this is the perfect fix. I have a 2009 Kohler Courage 26hp Sears Yard Tractor. I lost a cylinder a month ago and found this kit is needed to correct a factory "mistake" using powered ignition coils. The install was easy and took about an hour from start to finish. The engine runs even smoother than prior to the loss of one cylinder. I did watch a YouTube on the replacement which made the install even easier. I think I spent more time locating my metric socket set than the repair. If you have the DSAI or DSAM powered coils in your tractor and have lost one or both cylinders firing, don't hesitate. This is the fix for your tractor.

If you are having problems with torque on your Kohler engine try these, after spending $220 at a lawn mower repair shop that didn't fix the problem, I tried these and the mower runs great. Also a very easy install.

THIS KOHLER IGNITION MODULE CONVERSION KIT WAS THE FIX MY SEARS GT6000 GARDEN TRACTOR NEEDED!!!! My Sears 2010 GT6000 Garden Tractor was starting OK but after about 10 to 15 minutes of use - it would start to back fire / lose power. I replaced the spark plugs ... fuel filter ... air filter ... oil change with new oil filter ... but still no change to the performance. After checking out some you tube videos I came across the recommendation to replace the ignition coils with a conversion kit. So I ordered the coil conversion kit ... watched the videos .. and made the repairs myself My Sears Garden Tractor now runs like new!!!!! ... and I saved myself approx. $500 which would have been the cost for a local lawn mower repair shop to do the same repairs and the cost to pick up / deliver tractor. Any Do-It-Yourselfer can do it ... it's worth the effort!!!!!Read full review
