  • Comes close to using my headphones

I was in search of a set of speakers that I could play my digital piano through. I didn't want just anything, but a pair that would give clarity and detail, almost like a pair of my earphones from Etymotic. I'm really into hearing music as it is, with nothing added, like bass. The klipsch 2.1 got pretty close for my 1st set of speakers. But bass junkies do not despair! This baby gives you all the bass you need and more if you want. I also use these to listen to music in general, the sound is great. The power almost rivals my bose - I just can't see how loud either of them really go without reaching the point where you'll hear me from all over the neighborhood! Only "complaint" is that the wires are really long, but this was a setup originally used for desktop computers, so I really don't mind. Also, I think the audio plug has some connection issues- but a replacement can be had on the cheap at the manufacturers, and it's still under the original price. It's definitely worth the full price, and just an amazing deal bought used. My seller, freshtekbargain, sold me one in good condition. Delivery came in a short time, and it's been about a month since I've used these. You won't be seeing me return these.

  • Premium Sound 4my desktop!

3 cons.. 1) The unit stays powered up all the time. There is no off on switch that I could find. 2) There is no Bluetooth capability so the system must be wired directly to the source either desktop or lap . Playback off a smart phone would need some type of wiredadapter. 3) no remote Pros:: Sound is very good.. 200 watts system is quite powerful & bass in nowhere near max effect. I play music files off my computer, plus do editing & sound modifications to mp3 files.. Sounds are clear, crisp , & well worth a mere $100 . Go4it. I like the system & will check watt draw meter to determine if a powerstrip with an off on switch is necessary to reduce power consumption.

  • Doesn't Work

I had a Klipsch 2.1 ProMedia Speaker System, that after four years of use and abuse to get me through college started not working so well. One speaker was quite a bit quieter than the other. I decided to just buy another 2.1 system rather than fixing the old system as it would cost almost as much to fix as it would be to buy new. Upon searching for a new 2.1 system, I was pleasantly surprised to find the cost of the new system was the same that I had spent on the original some four years earlier. Upon receiving this unit, which was purchased through Best Buy on Ebay, I was in anguish. The new system had a much lighter feel to it throughout and the quality didn't appear to be like my original (this is apparently how they had kept the price the same for so long). I plugged the system in to try it out and it made a very loud audible "pop" sound through the speakers and nothing more came out. I plugged the satellite speakers to my old power unit and they worked fine. The new sub/power unit I received didn't work. Overall I am very displeased with Klipsch quality on their newer 2.1 systems, and even more displeased with Best Buy on Ebay. They wouldn't return the unit because it was outside of their 15-day return window. Heck, I didn't even receive the unit until it was almost out of the window! By the time I opened it I was outside of the return window and I was out of luck. Needless to say my experience and opinion of Klipsch, and Best Buy on Ebay is permanently tarnished.

  • Decent price

Close to new price - not significant cost difference between new to open box. Without the ability to inspect open box product you are forced to do so once the item is received and if there is an issue then return it. This was my experience. The cone on one of the speakers was dimpled when you removed the speaker cover. I ended up returning and reordering new for the difference in price of about $18-$20 more. Best Buy sends you the UPS return etc. to return at their expense for credit but still is a hassle to go drop off etc etc.

  • Ok at best

I have been a long time fan of the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers since they were first introduced, and have bought several sets of the speakers because of this. They are usually of excellent quality, providing terrific sound at an affordable price. In the interest of saving some money, I purchased this subwoofer, as it was all I needed, instead of a new complete set. But alas, while the seller received an overall good rating, I have to admit, that I was underwhelmed. This speaker did not have the same power switch on the back, with included circuit breaker, that I have seen from authentic Klipsch subs for this set. The sound was not as punchy, and reminded me of an old Spanish saying 'El barrato te sale caro', which loosely translated means 'Cheap winds up expensive'. So while I did not wish to go through the trouble of returning it, I do wish to replace it the first chance I get.

  • Good sound, good connectors

Sounds great. Woofer has adequate punch, and is not 'fuzzy' sounding. Extra long 3.5mm cord to connect to PC is very convenient. Only thing missing is a remote. If had that, would give these speakers five stars.

  • Purchased a second set

This is my second set. Bought 1 for my PC years ago, and this recently one for my bedroom. Speakers are great, play loud, bass is very loud for the size. This systems lacks features like Blue Tooth, but for $109 shipped you cant beat it! Well built, nice looking speakers.

  • They aren't Altec Lansing speakers

Pros: Quality sound reproduction at a decent price. Small footprint. Decent build quality. THX certification. Cons: Loudness is limited as it isn't meant to be very powerful. Lack of any optical or wireless audio connectivity. No remote capability. Light on control module stays on as long as power is on to speakers. Other: Spoken audio sounds great so it is great for movies and games.

  • Cheap and easy fix

The DIY repair kit provides everything one needs to repair the broken connector on my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers. I was having sporadic connection problems initially due to the faulty plug that connects the 2 satellite speakers to the subwoofer/power unit until one day when the plug finally came apart. I love these speakers, but I was just about ready to toss the whole speaker set into the trash, but decided to a web search for solutions. Apparently the failure of the plug is a common problem. That's when I discovered this repair kit on ebay and I also discovered videos on how to do the repair on youtube. I made the mistake of not finding the smaller shrink wrap in the padded envelope, so the job was more difficult using electrical tape on tiny soldered wires. I still managed to get the job done and was able to slide the larger shrink wrap over the repair without breaking any wires. The repair looks professional even though no one will ever notice, but it's a nice touch if you are a perfectionist. Bottom line...it works perfectly now and it saved me from tossing the speakers and having to pay for new ones. The kit even provides the solder (for a better connection that twisting the wires), so all you need is a cheap soldering iron. I just used a razor blade to trim the wires and was careful cutting the delicate wires. The whole job took about an hour. Great product....5 stars.

  • just under great

the sound clarity is probably the best I have ever heard in a pc speaker not that I have had the chance to listen to hundreds. I guess the one drawback to this set is that it get a little distorted when you listen to a bass boosted track. I did not pay new price because I was able to find a good deal on Ebay but I would recommend them to anyone not wanting to rattle the glass.
