I purchased the BowMedic portable press because of it's low price and the fact that I didn't think I'd use it much. Therefore, if it didn't last long I wouldn't be out much money. When I received it I was impressed by the overall quality of it. I was even more impressed when I used it. With one minor exception, (the plastic end caps will pop of when threading the cable ends through the limbs) it worked flawlessly! Once the cable gets snug this is not a problem and I'm sure a little glue would make it completely a non-issue. Pressing a 70 lb. bow isn't a challenge for it and it's really easy to use. You will need to use a wrench or socket and ratchet to tighten it with as the handle's tough to turn by hand. Not a problem though as a 5/8" socket or wrench works perfectly. If you're like me and only work on you own bows, or occasionally a friend's, this is perfect! In fact, if you maintain it properly, (Lubricate the cable) it'd probably last for a long time in an archery shop. It's definitely a great value and I recommend it highly!Read full review

This bow press does everything the bigger, bulkier presses do. Set up is easy and it can be used anywhere. I re-strung my bow in the living room while watching the Outdoor Channel. It does works a little easier using a 5/8 socket wrench though. The amount of tension on the compounds is easier to overcome with the wrench as opposed to just the t-handle. However the t-handle will work fine if no wrench is available. One suggestion I have is to lube the jack-screw well before use, it helps a lot.

I bought this figuring if it didn't work I was only out a quarter of the cost of taking my bow in. Was very pleasantly surprised that it worked great! The string had actually snapped on my bow and this had enough travel to pull the limbs in and re-string it with no issues whatsoever. It really helps to lube the threads before you start but it's fantastic and I highly recommend it!

Product works great. I had to buy the brackets for use with split limb bows as I have one bow with and one without. Press worked for both. Absolute requirement to install in-string peep sights and string dampers.

Great for DIY bow work and occasional maintenance and tuning. This one came without the two little leather pads so I made my own. Other than that it works like a champ.
