  • Great mid-priced rack; everything you want, nothing you don't.

I'm moving from a Thule 4-bike rack because I only carry two bikes, usually. I think I know a quality rack, since Thule is, in my opinion, the best. However, I wanted a simpler rack, not as expensive as Yakima or Thule, but also not a cheapo rack, because my bikes are $1000 - $2000 mountain bikes. This one does the job, and does it well. I've only used it a few times with one and two bikes, no problem. The bikes sit low and even and make it so wind resistance is really low. They don't come with locks, but I just purchased two $6 padlocks at Walgreens; these go in the locking mechanisms that come with the rack and secure the bikes BETTER than the expensive racks that have a built-in cable. Relatively easy to assemble. I usually keep them attached to the car, or in the trunk. I have yet to see if they rust really quick, but they appear to be quality, so I'm not that concerned about rust. Good rack for the price.

  • Easy to assemble, extremely easy to use

I use this on the back of my travel trailer. It works excellent. I can put my wife's bike on there and still clamp it down. This was a problem with my other bike carrier. The missing cross bar on women's bikes make it difficult to transport the, but the Swagman XC2 makes it easy to transport almost any bike. I think this is an excellent product.

  • Just what I was looking for

There was another rack at half the price, but the reviews describing flimsy materials convinced me not to get that one. After using it for a few years, I sold my Thule rack because my bicycles don't have a horizontal crossbar in the frame. This means they mounted crooked.....especially the lady's bike. It worked, but not easy to install the bikes. This Swagman rack is sturdy, and mounting the bikes are very easily done. I'm happy, and a little extra cost was worth it!

  • No extra features, but made well and functions as it should

This is a solidly constructed hitch mounted bike rack. It holds up to 2 bikes and folds for storage. Initial assembly was intuitive (didn't require following instructions) and only took about 5 minutes from unboxing to connecting it to my hitch. It has ratcheting clamps to keep the bikes in place. This works, but I added straps (the idea of watching either or both of my bikes bouncing down the road behind me after I have hit a bump is terrifying). There is a little bit of a squeak/rattle noise introduced when the rack is connected to the hitch, but this could easily be addressed with a hitch clamp. Note: This rack does not pivot outwards to allow access to a tailgate or rear hatch (it has to be removed for access). When not in use, the 2 "wings" of the rack (the parts that cradle the bike tires) fold upward, however, the rack does not pivot, slide, or otherwise change position to reduce how far it sticks out behind the vehicle (this can be inconvenient if you have space issues where you park). Bottom line: I would recommend this rack to anyone that is looking for a solid, no frills method for transporting 1 or 2 bikes.

  • Heavy duty and easy to use

I bought a similar style rack that had twist-able knobs to lock the bikes down . . did not like it at all. Sold it and got this one and I am very happy I did so. Install on the hitch very tight and easy. the slide down bike claws are nicely padded and stay in place. Can be a bit tough to unlock if you push them down too far, but that is o.k. Strong and secure.

  • Great Bicycle Platform Rack

I love the ease of placing bicycles on platform rather than having to lift them up on a hitch type rack. Bicycles are supported, remain secure & tire wheels are stationary. Also you can release center bar from upright position to lying down for ease of getting into trunk or van, or fold up horizontal support racks to center position, whichever way you prefer.

  • Easy load bike rack

This is a high quality bike rack, which I use to carry two bikes on our motorhome to ride in parks at night. This is the easiest loading bike rack I have found, fully adjustable to fit any size bike. Recommend it highly.

  • Swagman 2 Bike Hitch - XC Cross-Country

Very strong construction. Easy to assemble and use. Bikes ride smoothly and are held securely in place. This style bike carrier has all others beat hands down and the Swagman is a great buy!!!

  • A solid middleweight rack

Does it’s duty as solid bike rack without breaking the bank. It has a little bit of wiggle on my hitch mount, but paired with the pin lock, it does it’s job. Used it on a road trip recently to Idyllwild and Northern California on my Mazda 3 and it held up to the windy roads and hilly terrain, granted it was paved roads.
