  • World of a difference

On my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon, the addition of the Blue stylus has made a significant improvement in the sound of the table, when replacing the stock Red. The best part, you only need to swap the stylus, and not the whole cartridge body, as the body is the same for both Red and Blue. That makes it a 15 second operation, and all the factory adjustments are kept without tampering. To get the best possible sound of your Debut, I also recommend the upgrade to the Acryl-It platter and a decent phono preamp. My favorite in that department is Pro-Ject Tube Box S, which gives you the famously warm sound of valves. The combination of these three produces sound that easily rivals turntables costing 3 to 4 times the price, and is probably as high as I'd go upgrading tables in that price category. For anything better I'd be looking at tables in the $2K - $3K range.

  • Ortofon 2M Blue performs!

Just got my Ortofon 2M Blue stylus in today from Germany. And immediately I could hear the difference, it’s nice when you can actually can hear the reason you decide to upgrade equipment. I have the Ortofon 2MRed plug and play, and decided to upgrade the stylus just so I know if there really is a difference in sound quality when you pay more for a “upgraded” product. And it’s super easy to replace just like they said. Super pumped about my purchase and would recommend it to anyone curious about the sonic improvement of having a more expensive stylus.

  • Great sounding

The stylus is as easy as it gets to install if you were already using the Ortofon 2m red. I use the stylus on a pro ject Carbon debut dc with the acrylic platter and have the tracking set at 1.81not 1.8 and I believe I got a cleaner warmer sound with just a little more cleaner base . There is a break in period on a stylus and I only have 5 hours ,so a ways to go.

  • Ortofon Red 2M Upgrade

I bought an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge a few years back and have since bought two 2M Blue styli. This is an excellent upgrade to the 2M Red. Resolves inner groove distortion and siblance. Great sound seperation and soundstage is achieved with the 2M Blue. I recommend everyone who has started out with the red stylus to upgrade to the blue stylus. Changing stylus is as easy as sliding one off and sliding the new one on. Don’t buy an Ortofon 2M Blue stylus with any hesitation. I am so glad I upgraded to the blue.

  • Upgrade from Red---Way Worth It!

Short and sweet- Right from the get go I fell in love with it. This stylus is more musical and tonality is far superior to the 2m red. Sonically better, smoother and not as shrill as the 2m red. I like women artist, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, etc. So a shrill sounding cart won't work and is very off putting.

  • Break In Period

After everything I have read about the 2M Blue I expect it to be an excellent cartridge and stylus. It is still in the break-in period but sounds very good. Being a diamond stylus I it should last. It does ride very low on the vinyl, possibly because I have a cork mat. $120.00 more than the red,but the red is not a nude stylus. .

  • Ortofon Blue stylus in Red cartridge.

This is a very nice upgrade if you already have a Ortofon 2 M Red cartridge and need a new stylus. According to the Ortofon website the cartridge for the 2M Red, Silver, and Blue are exactly the same so swapping out the stylus is A-OK. So, a Red cartridge using the blue stylus is pretty much the same as a Blue cartridge and Blue stylus. I could really hear the difference and it's always nice to save money for more Vinyl.

  • Ortofon Blue is a Winner!!!

I moved from the AT stylus that came with my AT LP120 USB turntable to the Ortofon Red and now to the Blue. The Red was a huge improvement over the AT. But WOW! The Blue is incredible. Follow the directions for the Blue carefully however. Too much weight on the stylus does cause distortion. After adjustments, the stylus performs wonderfully. Highly recommended.

  • Do the Upgrade

What a difference! I upgraded from the Ortofon 2m Red to the 2m Blue stylus and love it. Inner groove distortion is now quiet, separation is fantastic and bass is warmer and not so boomy. I'm still in the burn-in period (@50 hrs). I watched the prices and when this dropped I snatched it up. What an addition to my Fluance TT. Do the upgrade.

  • Upgrade from red

It is unfortunate that the red version of this cartridge exists it feels like is broken compared to the blue. This being my first turntable I thought this is as good as it gets and I was not happy until I got the blue and everything got better. The red is no god my friends
