Feel much sturdier
These joysticks feel much sturdier and more responsive than the cheap generic Atari joysticks you can find on eBay. I tried the generic joysticks, and they lasted about an hour. The generic joysticks use very thin plastic to press the switches, and the plastic breaks easily. I know these are still made of plastic, so they can still break, but I think they will last much longer, so they are worth an extra few bucks. The longer cords are also nice.

Very nice joystick for the Atari 2600
Works great! The stick itself feels very similar to the original 1970s version from Atari - but the front corners of the base have a slight truncation, making the unit more comfortable to hold. The fire button is duplicated for left-handed people. The base is slightly heavier, and feels just a bit more sturdy. I highly recommend for some old school gaming. I believe there is also a USB version for PC emulation.

Durability issues:(
This joystick looks and felt great in my hands. The long cord is also nice and it worked great while playing the 2600 classics like Asteroids, Middle Command and Space Invaders. So why the low review? Durability issues. I have an old friend and we get together once a year to play M-Network Super Challenge Football. This football game requires alot of quick movements with the controller to juke out your opponent for yardage. I'm not gonna lie it's tough on a joystick. During our first game the stick literally broke off of the base. This has NEVER happened with a traditional Atari 2600 joystick. It's a bummer because the controller looks and feels great.

Don’t waste your money
Joystick looks good, operates great, feels like quality - up until the handle breaks off like butter!! I wasn’t operating the stick in an abusive manner - I’ve used Atari made joystick’s since the early 80’s. I never broke the stick off an original! Upon examination, the stick shaft diameter, where it enters the base, is about half of the size of the upper portion . No wonder it broke - CHEAP!!! Too bad, I was starting to really like this stick! One final interesting tidbet. These joystick’s feel heavy. Most will equate this weightiness to quality. Be advised…weights are inserted into the base, to make it feel heavy! I would’ve preferred a stronger handle over the illusion of quality!

Great companion for the Commodore 64
I use this product with my original commodore 64 and my emulated c64 (Raspberry Pi + BMC64 + keyrah). Action is good the dual placement of the fire button is very handy. The joystick responds with quick accuracy for shoot'em ups.

Perfect Joystick for the Atari 800 Computer.
