  • Low standards from previous models.

lack of features. cannot do continuous transfer from track a to track b. cannot even do continuous play or record from an individual track. I have owned a number of teac dual track recorders, of various models and every single model had these features so I took it for granted that this model would be no different. All were in the current price range and some far less. I am sending this model back within a few days from its arrival. Shame on teac from not meeting its high standards..

If you have a modern day receiver, with no Audio Connections, you are going to have problems with this unit! If it had a HDMI connect w/USB, it would be even better! Charles E. Carroll, Sr. GySgt USMC, Retired

  • Good with one Achilles heel

Best cassette deck currently available. Good dynamics and crisp attacks; superb soundstage. USB for computer connection. One Achilles heel: the timbral accuracy is poor. Acoustic instruments are often unclear. Best available, but would benefit from a better head.

  • Better than some folks say

It's likely the last new production cassette deck that will actually give you a listenable result. Not up to the same standard as cassette decks from the "Golden Age", but still a decent deck considering the components that are available to make decks these days. It doesn't have Dolby as that is no longer licensed, but it has a digital noise reduction that will work with Dolby B recorded cassettes. Both sides record, and it will dub tapes, but it is not autoreverse. If you just want a new deck for listening to your old tapes or even some casual recording, it will get the job done.

Unfortunately the pitch control is only activated in playback mode and not in recording. A serious draw back. Regrettable!

Easy to use. Play back is great, no tape hiss. No regrets.
