I ordered the watch on sale and it still came out to more than $300 which is on the high side of some Seiko Prospex watches. The look from the photos seemed great. A field watch look with antique markers, day/date with a cool case shape and great solar compass bezel crown guard. However, when received, it wears way smaller than expected. Too small for my wrists. I think in part is the fact that the strap pins are hidden below the case. Also, the finish was not matte but instead was glossy which made me worry about scratches and the like. The strap while nice in itself was leather which begs the question why the watch is rated for water resistance of 200m? It needs a bracelet or a different material strap so expect to purchase that too. Otherwise, it is a nice design with a dependable basic Seiko movement. Read full review

I’m not a watch collector, I was hyped up about owning watches and having a mini collection because of all the watch collector forums so thought this was a great watch to start with. The watch is great but the utility of these kinds of watches are so nerfed by smart watches that I cannot find myself wearing it other than for certain occasions, this is not a special occasion watch as you may tell, so to me this watch became useless very quickly. What I’m trying to say is that if you’re in the hype of collecting watches and you are currently using a smart watch you will find yourself going back to it really quickly, if you never wear watches this is a great starter watch for your collection.
