This book has been a part of my daycare library for about a year or so, and I love to bring it out when the older school age kids are picking on each other and calling each other names. The book has comical illustrations with straight forward, short and simple reminders that it's okay to be different! Areas in which it's okay to be different might be in a person's size, color, food preference, emotions, intelligence, and much more. The kids get a kick out of the very colorful, comical stick person illustrations, and always bring up their own ideas of where it's really okay to be DIFFERENT! While the text is geared toward the very young child from about 1-3 or 4, the older child will benefit from being reminded that they don't need to make fun of another person just because he or she is different. Thank you for reading my review, and I hope it helps you determine whether THE OKAY BOOK is right for adding to your library. Sincerely, Mrs. skywalker_trackRead full review
I love Todd Parr and my copy of this book was stolen at school. I was so excited to find it on ebay because it is almost impossiblle to buy in stores anymore. I won the copy and the condition of the book looked in pretty good shape online. When i got the book, I was shocked at the damage... Especially on the cover. Sharpie writing dedicated the book to someone and a huge sticker of an ear on the faces. How was I suppose to give this book to my niece in this condition? I am still quite angry.
Great price for a great book. My daughter loves this author so I was happy to get it at such a great price.
