This "album" is still in my collection but since it is 40 (yes) years old, it was time for an update. Actually, i am delighted to hear some of my favorite music of all times, *but* unfortunately, some of the best cuts have been re-done . . . and now lack the intense / serene / haunting loveliness of structure and phrasing of the originals. On a couple, Donovan seems to be doing a parody of himself, of the original recording. Two that were re-done for the worse: "Hurdy Gurdy Man," and "Catch the Wind." So now, i must train my ears to hear these versions as "variants" while i look, again, for the original . . . untouched, if such a thing exists. (NOTE: This is my first and only review, done only because it was "solicited" and because i love[d] this "album," so much. So very much.)
