Stampede - I owned it on vinyl when I saw the band at Reading Festival - 1977 I think - and haven't heard it for about thirty years - amazingly I remembered it all - as fresh and clear as back then! What makes this album so special is the quiet parts. The Doobie brothers are often only remembered for the sunshine sound and energy of their greatest hits - and this can be found aplenty on this album in the singles or songs like Neal's Fandango, But its I Cheat The Hangman and Slat Key Soquel Rag that stick because of their delicacy and resraint. - I would recommend this album to anybody who has the patience to sit and listen - the rewards are well worth the effort.
I had this album a long time ago on a track cassette CD , Couldn't find it so I bought another one glad it was available thank you
