Building on previous year's 2004 Season releases for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, this "2005" edition of Cabela's Deer Hunt features more maps, more species of deer, and 18 new missions. The nine types of deer in this year's simulation include the mottled Piebald, true Albino, and rare, dark-coated melanistic varieties of whitetail. The game's nine hunting regions contain three maps each, including unlockable areas in elite, private game ranches. This release also brings clay, trap, and skeet shooting to the console series for the first time. As usual, players can customize their set up from a selection of thousands of pieces of Cabela's brand apparel and equipment. An "instant gratification" Quick Hunt mode is also available.
Patience is a virtue in this game. If you have never hunted wildlife before, this game will definitely frustrate you beyond belief unless you are a very, very patient individual. I found myself chasing deer endlessly until I was near death....LOL! It can be fun, but not a long term addiction for my taste, even though it has very life-like graphics.
I haven't played this particular Cabela's game but, I have played others and I really liked them. So, I see no reason not to give this a 5 star rating. If anyone could come up with a good hunting video game it would be Cabela's.
This game is geat fun but it could have a little more action maybe even havve a few moe hunts or at least more animals to see and hear andpossible more tracks to follow around the woods to keep the excitement up
