one of the more underrated and unappreciated records of the 1990's alternative music craze. Not sure why this one got passed over by fans, radio, mtv, magazines, etc.,for the homogenic sounds of bubblegrunge bands like COLLECTIVE SOUL/SOUL ASYLUM,(WHO BOTH IRONICALLY LACKED ANY KINDA SOUL!)oh well that's usually the case,so anyway, check this one out for real!lots of diversity here, along with fierce, passionate vocals from late singer SHANNON HOON.his gifted songwriting shines brighter than a thousand suns on this one, too! The two things i love most about this record are the numerous moods all these songs surface, and most importantly, the timeless quality it possesses. It sounds even better today than it did 13 years ago when it originally came out!Unfortunately this would be their last studio recording.Read full review
this cd is one of the most under rated pieces of rock history. its shameful how little attention was paid to it after shannon hoons death. ground-breaking vocals, songs, and the all around ability of this bands performances.the new orleans feel that was lent to the sound (vs. blind melons first cd which was a little early 90s hippie)cause you to sincerely wonder what if. hopefully we will get to hear more of shannons legacy through nico's (his daughter) voice as she performs from time to time with the current line up of blind melon. if you are a sincere music fan, dont sell yourself short and not own this cd at some point in your life. you can hear the groans of a man cryin for help, struggling during the search, and from time to time finding redemption, all while intricately streaming through "how did they think of that?" music. heartfelt, silly, and altogether lovely, blind melon, and shannons time together should have never ceased. i am a music freak and put this in my top 5 ever!!!Read full review
I had this album a few years back and loved it a lot. Now it seems that it's not carried by many different stores that I've looked at. Happy to have it again and if you are a Blind Melon fan and don't already have it I suggest you treat yourself and get it. It has a few songs that were only available onthis album that I haven't been able to find anywhere else.... My $0.02
An excellent and it seems underrated album. I appreciate it even more each time I listen to it. It is hard to get this album. Blind Melon were a great band that deserve more of a listen than just their hit "No Rain" from their self-titled first album. There are so many good songs, but stand out tracks are: 1/ Galaxie 2/ Vernie 3/ Skinned 4/ Toes Across The Floor 5/ Dumptruck 6/ St. Andrews Fall I highly recommend Blind Melon 'Soup'

Although it is a little darker then their debut release it is still a classic. I believe everybody fan or not should at least give it a listen.
