Great collection like as so often with Columbia jazz, muddy sound
This Legacy series of reissues from Columbia's vast holdings of classic jazz goes back to 1996. I have other Legacy discs too. Darn it, the sound is muddy. The collection of tracks here is mighty, ranging from 1936 to 1944 and one from 1961, all great music. Just wish came out of speaker properly. Columbia does not help the buyer with its odd sequencing of tracks, hard-to-read booklet that does give good info in a confused way, and dark colours that make the back-of-CD track listing unreadable. What editor did this!!?
