Hanson was a huge pop sensation in the late ninties; an unforgettable classic. Who can forget the three blonde brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma? This was their first publically released album from 1997. Definately a must have for anyone who wants a complete collection of 90's pop! With Isaac playing guitar, Taylor on keyboards, and little brother Zac pounding the drums, they are a modern-day Partridge family (on a smaller scale). This album features 13 great up-beat songs, including a bonus track, Man From Milwaukee. Several songs from this album made it to the radio airwaves. Feel like re-living the late-90's? This album is for you!
I bought Middle of Nowhere because after hearing (and liking) some of Hanson's more recent stuff, I wanted to investigate their roots--if three kids in their twenties can actually have roots. What I found was a joyous, infectious, solid pop album. Comprising thirteen highly listenable tunes, Middle of Nowhere represents an impressive debut for any artist, let alone a trio too young for driver's licenses (or puberty, for that matter). Though his voice is clearly in the middle of changing, Taylor Hanson delivers strong, confident vocals on everything from the group's hit pop single "MMMBop" to the somewhat over-emotive "Yearbook." Older brother Isaac shows off his own impressive pipes in the fast-driving "A Minute Without You," and all three brothers put their natural blend to good effect in funk-driven tunes "Speechless" and "Madeline" (my favorite), and a fun garage-mix number called "Man from Milwaukee."Read full review
The music is unmistakable. It is Hanson. The Dust Brothers do a fine job with their production of Thinking of You and MMMBop. The music can go from enjoyable (Where's The Love) to crazy (Speechless). The mellow and melancholy take place in between (Weird, Yearbook, Lucy). There is more fun with Madeline and A Minute Without You, a song that features the lyric: "1,440 hours in my day" -- which is actually the number of minutes in a day. Their is also a fun bonus track: Man From Milwaukee. A song Hanson did not dare to top until about a decade later with Devil's Nachos.
The nostalgia of these Hanson songs from the mid-90s is touching and magical. I love the pre-9/11 pop sound and the richness of the Hanson brothers' instrumentation and vocals. Boys band melodies at their finest! This is an awesome addition to my collection.

Usually, I'm a fan of Divas-style/ 90's Pop Music such as Spice Girls, Madonna, Mariah, Britney, Westlife etc. I've known the band from Mmmbbop when I was 17. The song made me feel Oh...Who's sing it? Is a girl's or a boy's voice? After that, I can see them in many medias...that's how I first known the band but I didn't buy any their album. Ten years later, I unintentionally found the hanson's Middle of Nowhere(in Like New-Condition) on ebay listing and it can saved my shipping charge(Combined shipment). I decided to buy it. And It's not disappoint me. Hope anyone who not much love in Rock but love in 90's Pop(or even Pop Divas) would love this CD too.
