Jerry Maguire has 3 main influences (((comedy, drama and romance))). Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise) an agent sports management firm will begin negotiating deals as he tries to profit not just money but a conscience. Enthusiastic & successful negotiating and serious crisis brings sleepless nights and a calling to "Show me the money!" a catch-phrase that will drive you nuts. He gets fired from his firm and decides to pick up a player who brings no solid performance but he will gain one thing he didn't have when he meets a woman he falls in love. You begin to hate this actor in the beginning of the film but the ending of the film will change the viewers objective after everything has fallen together complete. It's like putting a puzzle together and find out one piece is missing, you look around and see that it rests at the corner of the table leg on the floor. Well this film is that last puzzle piece so you can snap it in place and feel like your accomplishment is alive. This film got best picture and best actor with Tom Cruise. I loved this movie! When I first started watching it, I wasn't sure if the lead actor was Tom Cruise or a look-alike. He put something 'else' into the role that I've never seen in him before, and it really worked because the main character in the movie was Jerry Magire - not Tom Cruise! I'm not sure if they changed his face somehow or not but if I had to wager a guess, I'd say yes they did. The movie,Jerry Magire,is about a man who gives his best each day but is beset with common problems, choices and judgement calls which face each of us too as we navigate our way through this life as best we can. We witness him struggling to do the right thing (for him), in his career and personal life as he faces his own particular brand of problems and challenges as he attempts to discern between love and loyalty, ideals and success. This movie was brilliantly cast with supporting actress, Renee Zellewegger playing Dorothy Boyd, a soft spoken, single mother with a warm heart and an adorable young son, played expertly by actor Jonathon Lipnicki. This film was directed by Cameron Crowe, (director of 'Singles' and 'Say Anything'), who manages to convey to his cast the importance of executing their roles with such an understatement that it allows the watcher to sit back and enjoy the plot - without having to watch Tom Cruise and Renee Zellewegger acting in it. We believe that the people we are watching are Jerry Maguire and Dorothy Boyd. I highly recommend this movie to intelligent people who like thought provoking movies without violence or high speed chases.Read full review
