How to start. Ok, great social commentary on division of class, innocence, friendship and freedom. Great acting, as always, by Sam Rockwell. Mischa Barton was really good - what happened to her that she ended up on the OC?. The rest of the cast was ok, the script was fine. If I don't sound enthusiastic about a movie I consider to be good is because it kinda drags and can get boring at times. This is not the type of movie that you can recommend to a specific group of film buffs - it is drama, but that is such a broad genre! If you like Sam Rockwell this is his usual quirky young man who gets naked at the drop of a hat. So fans of his will like it. The message is good but the execution leaves something to be desired
This is one of those films you think is just an average flick to consume 2 hours of your life, but after this film ends is when it reaches you. The more I thought of the film the better it became and now is one of my favorite films of all time. This film unfolds like a pleasant fairy tale but has a deep underlying message of how people and relationships are treated by society. Sam Rockwell is pitch perfect in his role as Trent and Mischa Barton equally as amazing as Devon. A heartwarming, strange, sometimes uncomfortable film that leaves you thinking way after it ends...Excellent
I wasn't sure about this movie at the beginning, however it is a story of how people treat others who are "less" than they. Devon is a ten year old girl who looks at life differently, as though it were a fairy tale. She sees the good in someone who is considered trash and adopts him as her friend. I bought this movie because it was Mischa Barton's premier film and she does a wonderful job of playing Devon. It's not bad...
Great movie and I got it quickly
