this film was always a family favorite. it's been a mystery to me why it is not ever mentioned on any of the 100 best films of all times lists. it is nothing more than great storytelling . many might consider this a love story, a father son story , a mother / son story, a coming of age story. i for one think it encapsulates all of this themes. it's right in the league with" a tree grows in brooklyn"," best years of our lives ","diary of anne frank". anyone wanting to share good film making with their children or grandchildren has to view this film. the most under-rated film of all time.
Great story about people living in Wales at a time where life wasn't easy. The stars were excellent. KOODOS!
