I love the Discworld series and was eager to see how free they could be with the concepts in an animated setting. Imagine the possibilities! Seems the producers and actors would've benefitted from a bit of imagination. The adaptation is pretty faithful. This movie is like an audio book with pictures of the characters moving their mouths. It's just not much fun to look at. The female characters all have man-hands and the voice actors all sound like they've never seen a script before.
This is a pretty faithful rendering of Terry Pratchett's hilarious retelling of the Macbeth story and its aftermath. Lots of dialog came straight out of the book. The problem I had with it is the character designs are a bit odd, and the animation is frankly cheesy. I guess BBC did not have the kind of budget you need to produce a super-long animated feature the way it ought to have been done. Still, it was enjoyable.
So happy to find this! A must see for Terry Pratchett fans!
