The anime was sound, but the story lacked the depth that I desired. I still haven't found any anime title that beats Venus Wars. This movie, instead of providing a more believable & interesting extraterrestrial adversary, instead gives the viewer a subterrainean foe. A foe that is never really revealed, except for two ,rather ordinary, citizens representing that subterrainea. The naval footage, and battle scenes were superb, though. But, the lack of depth in the plot only serves to dillute these superb animated battle scenes. So, instead of enjoying these wonderful action sequences to the fullest, the viewer is just left yearning for the icing on the cake. What a waste of Anime!!!!!!!!!!!
