Second only to Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, this album is one of the greatest and most played CDs in my collection. Every song is interesting and odd and beautiful and sad. This project is a little more polished than the stuff before it and it should appeal to both indie and alt/rock fans who have good musical taste and a tollerance of the semi-strange. 5 Huge Stars.
This is one of the best Flaming Lips albums, except for maybe one song where they were experimenting with low bass frequencies which just becomes very annoying after 30 seconds. Otherwise the lyrics are artistic and moving and the music is real and not this commercial crap that fills the radio.
Don't see what's so great about this band. The music was okay, but the voice annoying...I guess with all the hype, I was expecting something more. I got tired of the 'singing' after a couple of tracks. Lyrics pretty ineffectual.
One of the best albums from one of the best bands. The music contained on this album is just very pleasing to the ears. If you are fed up with some of the music that is being produced today and you never listened to the Flaming Lips, I advise you to pick up a copy of The Soft Bulletin.
