Although most remembered in the lead role of "Eddie and the Cruisers", Michael Pare` pulls off this altered-time romantic thriller (with the help of Nancy Allen, from "Carrie") pretty well. Passing through the barrier of time, forty years into his own future, this sailor has one heck of a time dealing with the reality of his predicament. A worm hole has opened between his departure to his arrival time, and it's threatening to ravage the world like a black hole. There aren't many laughs, but there are some funny situations. For it's time, this flick has a believable storyline; and the way it was filmed reminds me of "Colossus: The Forbin Project"... another low budget film that stands out in my mind. It's a must see for anyone who enjoys the B movie sci-fi genre! 4-1/2 out of 5 Stars. Worth a look.Read full review
I am a fan of Michael Pare and many of his acting jobs. This is not his best movie but a movie that makes a person mildly curious. It has some reality to it due to an actual experiment done during World War II. It was fun to watch even though I often found myself saying that some of the actors could have grasped the times for which they were portraying more than they had done. (Some actors' haircuts did not reflect the 40's but more the 80's. All in all a fun movie to watch though. I will watch it again and again.
This movie bases its storyline loosely on the rumors and stories about a project during WWII called "Project Rainbow". Many stories abounded about the efforts to make ships invisible to radar, and what is said to have happened. While the original story is shrouded in mysteries, the movie succeeds in making great entertainment. Acting is very good. I especially love Nancy Allen, she is great!
