About this product

Product Information

When inexperienced call girl Alabama Whitman (Patricia Arquette) is paid to seduce comic-book-nerd and Elvis fanatic Clarence Worley (Christian Slater), she doesn't expect to fall for him. But these two lost souls seem to be made for each other and quickly pledge their love, marrying at Detroit's city hall. Clarence discovers some newfound bravado and attempts to retrieve Alabama's possessions from her pimp, Drexl (Gary Oldman), who isn't exactly eager to let Alabama go. Fleeing Drexl's apartment, Clarence not only leaves a trail of bodies, but also inadvertently mistakes a suitcase of uncut cocaine for one with his wife's clothing, and the chase is on. The unlikely newlyweds head for Los Angeles hoping to sell the cocaine and make enough money to leave the country. Unfortunately, they also have to contend with the mob, yuppie drug dealers and the police. Michael Rapaport is amusing as Clarence's best friend who lives with Floyd, a stoner played by Brad Pitt. A sedate Dennis Hopper appears as Clarence's father, who ultimately faces off with mob boss Vincenzo Coccotti (Christopher Walken). Director Tony Scott (CRIMSON TIDE, ENEMY OF THE STATE) does justice to the violence and quirkiness of Quentin Tarantino's second feature film script.

  • Unrated Director's Cut 2 DVD is a Must!

I'm a HUGE Patricia Arquette Fan! Long time ago I got the Single DVD Version of True Romance & it's OK; Wish I had found this 2 DVD Unrated Director's Cut Version FIRST!!! This Unrated version has the deleted scenes, behind-the-scene look, commentaries, alternate ending version and the director talks about why they decided not to go that way, etc., so many things you will NOT see in the Single DVD version! YOU CAN STILL FIND THIS VERSION, IN WHATEVER CONDITION YOU PREFER & VERY REASONABLY PRICED!! DEFINITELY WORTH ADDING TO YOUR COLLECTION!!

  • True Romance...watch it.

I’m not sure who hasn’t seen this flick but if you haven’t yer pretty lucky ‘cause you get to see it for the first time. It’s was pretty much a cult film from the opening credits...directed by Tony Scott and starring Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Christopher Walken, Brad Pitt, Samuel Jackson, and on and on...oh yeah, I forgot it was written by Quentin Tarantino. When it was released in the 90’s the geek/comic culture hadn’t started yet so watching now, 2020-21, it seamlessly fits into today’s pop culture. I’m not going to talk plot etc ‘cause if you’re lucky enough to go in blind you’ll be so satisfied. It is slightly dated due to the time it was shot but that’s easily overlooked because of great story telling. The one most important thing is you must see the unrated/directors cut. The theatrical version was cut by quite a-bit which hurts the story emotionally, it’s honestly two different movies. It is very Tarantino so there’s humour mixed with extreme violence etc. So go watch it now.

  • Underrated classic

One of Tarantino's first projects as a writer, True Romance is one of my favorite movies and has one of the greatest performances by Gary Oldman and Christopher Walken. Fantastic movie.

  • Bonnie & Clyde of the 90's

It's funny how the two leads (Clarence and Alabama) of this movie were'nt your typical Bonnie & Clyde couple; however, with all the heavy amount of chaos that was happening around them it sort of drove them into becoming exactly like them anyway.

  • Under Rated

I believe True Romance is one of the most iconic under rated cult classic films ever put out. I truly believe it is one of Quentin Tarantino best. If people have not seen this film, They should.
