  • awesome!

coming from the Harmony 900 and Harmony One previously, I thought I'd miss the touch-screen with the simpler remote, but so far it works great. Only thing I really wish it had was backlit keys, but i guess the tradeoff is that you get awesome battery life and don't have to worry about putting it back in a cradle. The only other tiny nit-pick is that I miss the "help" button from the other remotes, though you can do the same stuff either in the app or by doing off/on again. One surprise benefit was that since the hub has bluetooth and my pc has bluetooth, sending commands to the pc is "native" now (the hub shows up as a bluetooth keyboard) , i don't have to use as much IR/Eventghost re-wiring that I needed before.

  • Great gadget for the home theater!!

The harmony hub takes a while to configure. It is best to read the user manual first and make sure you understand all the steps completely before you start with the setup. I also recommend that you reset the unit to factory defaults before you start the setup. Took about 15-20 mins to complete the setup and add all my devices - Epson Projector, Yamaha AVR, Sony Blu-Ray Player and Amazon Fire TV . Once setup, it is just one button operation to power on all the electronics and set the correct input/channels for each. Remote also has ability to control smart electricals like lights, fans etc., though I don't have any to test it. Overall, a great little remote. My only complaint - I wish the remote was back-lit.

  • Excellent But:

Very happy with the size and weight, the non-bulky design the way the system can operate. Can even operate my system through a phone app. from anywhere if I choose to. the only thing the remote itself is missing is a help button which is needed when the system gets out of sync. having said that it does include that in the phone app. My old 880 model has that feature but overall this is an improvement from the 880. I highly recomend this remote it runs my system with just one remote.

  • Works well with a few flaws.

The remote would be much better if backlit, use AAA batteries, and have wider spacing between numbers. Even so, once programmed I find it very easy to use and great for switching from DirecTV to Netflix with only one button. Same for VCR. The programming is a bit of a chore, and it took me a couple of tries. Programming is all done thru your cell phone. The cell phone also works as a remote, but I don't use it too often as takes more buttons to access the correct menu. Overall, I like it enough that I'll probably get a second one for the master bedroom.

  • Finally

Not sure why it took year—decades—to get to this point, but it looks like we've finally got a universal remote that can make everyone happy. All the functionality of the top-end product, but without the useless and battery-draining touchscreen, web-interface and limited communication styles. This remote is simple, the layout is basically perfect, the feel and shape are ideal, the setup is extremely straightforward and it talks to everything. Best part is that I don't have to charge it every day or week. Apparently this think will keep kicking for a year and the battery is both tiny and replaceable. Thank you, Logitech.

  • Well-made, but with serious implementation issues!

Despite the fact that this product is extremely well built there are major issues with this implementation. The first issue is the programming. While MyHarmony does try to import any profiles that you may have from other Logitech remote controls, I found that keys were not mapped as they should've been along with certain device profiles. The second is actually getting your devices to work properly. In order to program this remote control you have both the MyHarmony Windows application as well as an iOS or Android app. I found it necessary to constantly go between one version of MyHarmony and the other. I have yet to be able to get this to play nicely with my Windows machine. And the problem is basically that you can't just use a keyboard to type in the key sequences you want. You have to choose from the key combos on the phone app and some combinations just aren't there. And if you try and do a custom command the remote goes into learning mode and asks you to transfer the command from another remote. After working with this device for the past week and a half I'm not sure whether or not I'll keep it or referred back to my Harmony 650.

  • Logitech Harmony Home Control

The Logitech Harmony Home Control was appropriately only a slight challenge to program. Support for specific models of equipment is excellent, and integration with Hue lighting is a great plus! Also, I am impressed but a bit concerned that there is no access to charge or replace batteries in the remote. How is this possible? I have a strong technical background, so setup was not a huge challenge for me, but I can see where it would be for others. I found response however to be inconsistent. Clicking on the scenario buttons to start TV with Cable or TV with Amazon occasionally fail to turn on the appropriate equipment, forcing me to go to the app and turn on the individual component directly. While it appears you can place pauses in the script where needed to allow time for the equipment to turn on before changing modes, in actuality what appears to be a method to move the pause before an event does not work, and only seems to place the pause after the last script item, making it difficult to customize the scenario scripts. This system seems to have a great deal of power and flexibility, however the mobile programming interface needs some improvement, at least the one for iPhone. All in all, this is a great product and has a great deal of potential. It is nice to be replacing 5 remotes. Bob

  • Great Remote With a Few Downsides

This universal remote does (mostly) what I need it to do.. Connects to all of my media room devices that are located in different areas in the room using RF remote (big advantage). I can also use my mobile phone as a remote (not my preference). The remote that comes with the Companion is not lighted presumably to minimize battery life ( a coin battery). Previously I used a Harmony 650 remote that is lighted and this is preferential for my setup as I have trouble finding the right buttons in the dark. I am still working on getting it to act nice with my Google Home system as it would be nice to use voice control for some functions. Really easy to program! All in all it works better than my old 650 (still a great remote) but it has a few shortcomings.

  • Great idea, poor implementation

I've been using this combo for 2+ weeks now. Still cannot get it working as desired. Another example how great idea could be killed by poor implementation (not typical for Logitech). First, it seems that hub overwrote most of the configurations on my smart TV: I lost network configuration and few more (still trying to figure out what is wrong). Second, even being an electronic engineer, I have hard time to set it up so I don't need to use multiple remotes. It looks like my settings made via smart phone are not holding. For example, I cannot get "Smart Hub" function work from Harmony remote the same way it works on original Samsung remote. And so on. It seems to work for basic functions like volume, channels, on/off, etc. but when it comes to more advanced functionality, something does not work on Harmony remote. Android app seems to be doing much better. I'm really disappointed with Harmony. I used Harmony 680 for almost 15 years and it worked great until recently.

  • Good product but software has few issues.

Once it's setup it's good however setting it up is a pain. I bought this product refurbished and it would just not connect to my wifi (lots of people had this issue). I had to physically plug it into pc to get it working. Also smart control buttns cannot be mapped to IR devices which is just ridiculous.
