Tailgate lock
This product is a band hose clamp type unit with a plastic cover. It utilizes a special tamper resistant keyed bolt head to tighten the band around the tailgate hinge with the slot for lifting the tailgate off. Should be an adequate theft deterrent and more convenient than adding a keyed tailgate handle. The $20 some dollar price is on par with what it is, so a good value. Hopefully this helps to add enough theft deterrent to keep my Dodge Ram tailgate on my truck and not on Craigslist. Only time will tell.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It’s junk
It’s almost impossible to measure and cut the contraption for a Toyota Tacoma. I am very mechanical, and reduced the size 5 times by 1/8th inch and still could not get the right size out of it.
