This game has become more expensive, I suppose because it had a smaller production run than other games. So expect to pay up to 100 for a copy in good shape. Despite reading some negative reviews, I really wanted this game and was not disappointed. Is it a masterpiece for the SNES? No, but it's fun. The music from the game sounds great if you're familiar with the songs from the movie. The graphics are big and well done, although several levels are a bit too dark on screen. The gameplay is fun after you figure out the mechanics. I don't know that a 5 or even ten year old would make it past the first level, but for older gamers, it's no problem. I breezed through the first half of the game without much trouble. Some levels will require REPEATED play throughs though. Kind of old school in that regard - I love games like that, others may not. Beauty & the Beast is not for someone looking for an easy game. I would rate it's difficulty as 7 out of 10. There is a cheat code that allows you to level select basically. I found this great so as not to beat it in one sitting. Fun, particularly for fans of the movie, but not spectacular.Read full review
