This spinoff series from the classic "Bewitched" is not only fun in its own right, but it shows true respect for the original series. Even some of the actors from "Bewitched" recreated their characters in guest appearances in "Tabitha." Lisa Hartman is an excellent choice for the lead role: she is cute and perky, and sometimes one can close one's eyes and almost hear Elizabeth Montgomery (particularly the way she says, "Well....") The writing is always crisp and hilarious, and the storylines fit into the originals almost as if there had been no break between the two series. And the music...the opening theme is one that has haunted me since the first time I heard it all those years ago (I had forgotten that the theme was not used in the first couple of episodes, and I am so glad they added it in time for the Halloween special). According to the credits, that song was sung by none other than Lisa Hartman herself! She is gifted. Quite gifted :) This series is a charming bit of nostalgia for fans of "Bewitched," and will also appeal to modern audiences who never even knew Samantha and Darrin. These are the shows that paved the way for such popular hits as "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and even "Charmed." I give it my top rating, and I only wish I could rate it higher. If you haven't seen "Tabitha," do your whole family a huge favor and get this DVD set today. Also included on disc #2 is the original pilot episode that they list as "unaired." Well, I remember seeing it on TV way back before I knew it was to be an ongoing series, but that isn't important. It has some funny moments, but it really doesn't capture the "Bewitched" feeling the way the other episodes do. It did not star Lisa Hartman and, though I harbor no ill will toward the other actress, she just isn't a very likeable or believable "Tabatha" (note that even the spelling looks wrong). Still, get this DVD for the majority of the episodes. You can skip that pilot episode, and lament with the rest of us that the series didn't last longer than it did. This one deserved a much, much longer run. I am ever thankful that at least we can have the existing programs on DVD at last. Something to treasure forever :) Thumbs WAY UP.Read full review
Actors: Lisa Hartman, Robert Urich, Mel Stewart, David Ankrum, Karen Morrow This was a nice series about Samantha and Darin Stephens little girl all grown up and out on her own, working for a low-rent local television station in this enchanting spin-off series. Starring Lisa Hartman(it would have been nice if they could have had the orginial person Erin Murphy who played tabitha to do this series, but Lisa Hartman did do a good job with the part and she does look a little like the orginial star)as Tabitha adds a little magic and fun to the lives of her relatives and friends including mortal brother Adam (David Ankrum), The unaired pilot made him a warlock, on the orginial series it was made for you to believe he might be a warlock, the unaired pilot is included with this set, but it has a different Tabitha and Adam, guardian witch Aunt Minerva (Karen Morrow)(I think they should have one of the great aunt's from the show, they never showed Samantha had any sisters only a cousin) and Paul Thurston (Mel Stewart). This set includes the entire 12-episode run plus the rarely seen original pilot episode starring Liberty Williams and Bruce Kimmel as the Stephens siblings. Reprising their roles from the original series are Sandra Gould and a bearded George Tobias as Gladys and Abner Kravitz in "The Arrival of Nancy," and Bernard Fox as Dr. Bombay in "Tabitha's Party." So if you collect the Bewitched series this is still a great addition to your collection.Read full review

I watched only one of the discs but from it looks good. The actors sure came off as being just like the siblings as kids.

It's amazing to think how much society had changed in the short period between the end of Bewitched in 1972 and this series in 1977. Granted, the character of Tabitha had been aged, otherwise the show would have been about a tween and not a young woman. But for all the camp humour in Bewitched, it was still very wholesome and peaches-and-cream. With Tabitha, we have a swinging, single girl-about-town, who *shock, horror* actually has a sex life, if the allusions are anything to go by. Add a sassy, man-eating mentor (the fabulous Karen Morrow) and the camp fun goes into overdrive. Coupled with some seriously groovy bubble-gum music, tight, tight jeans and Farrah-flicked 'dos , this series more than holds its own as a cool comic progression of the Bewitched franchise. It's a great shame there weren't a whole lot more episodes made.Read full review
They really tried with this one, but it missed the boat. It had the right ingredients, but somehow seemed out of place. If it would have had several guests from the original "Bewitched" it possibly would have faired better. Lisa Hartman was extremely cute in those days and made a good Tabitha (resembling the young Tabitha from the 60's). The paring of her and Robert Urich was awkward, but it did bring back memories of the 80's and the old series for me.
Cool 😎 and its gor robert urich before vegas ,spencer ❤,and lisa hartman later ceegee on knots landing both young sexy stars worth 👀 watching them!

Good show but had a few flaws on the family line that needs explaining but enjoyable

Compared to Bewitched though, it doesn't hold a candle. I still like the show, but it's just not as engaging as Bewitched was.
