Just Before Dawn Great classic horror from the early 80s. Yet another reason why I love 80s horror the best. A young group of campers in an RV head out to some very secluded land that was recently purchased by a member of their group. The young kids ignore the sheriff's warning about how dangerous the land can be. They soon run into trouble with the hillbilly residence again ignoring the deadly warning. Eventually leading to them getting picked off one by one until the Killer is stopped.💀

City folks in an RV head into the woods one of them inherited. Of course some people who have lived on the land for generations feel the land is theirs. This story has been done before but I love horror movies and I always give them a try. This one has a pretty nice poster too and to me that helps. As I said in the title I was bored. Started ok, I love begining of movies with all the background stuff. Then they get the first warning not to go into the woods, then weird things start to happen. Sorry but I have seen enough of these movies to know you should turn around and go home when weird things happen in the woods! So by the time people start dying you just feel they had it coming for not knowing basic slasher rules. I got bored halfway through the movie, still watched the whole thing. I have read reviews about this movie and it seems like some people like it and consider it a classic horror film. So maybe give it a try - I would rent it before buying (which is what I did, rented it did not buy) just in case.Read full review
I love this movie. I write poems now and it even inspired a poem. But if I say too much, I'd give it away. It's billed as horror but it's not your run of the mill Freddy or Jason slasher movies. Yeah, yeah yeah, everyone likes that stuff. And I love Robert Englund as Freddy. But this one is different. Or becomes different and unique in my not so humble opinion. Anyways, I saw this movie originally on cable way back when. 83 maybe? Like I said in my title, if I say too much, then I'd end up ruining it. Not emmy award winning acting, except for perhaps Deborah Benson. I think she did get an award which was mentioned on the special features disk. I am sure she deserved it. I think they only showed it once on a now defunct movie channel called Spotlight. So I waited and waited for it to come out on VHS. Never did. FINALLY it arrives on DVD but I didn't know about it for a long time. Basically life goes on and ya' forget about it, right? So I find out, whoah, it's on DVD now! It's just as good even having seen it before. If you like seeing the meek defeat the villian, then get it. I personally think it's worth it. But then again, like I said in my review for Beer For My Horses, I've had people say to me when I like something, "You really liked that?" Why yes I did and apparently other people do too or it would have never been re-released. This was worth buying!!!! But then I'm not always in the majority. I rated Beer for my horses poor! I saw other people's reviews where most were excellent. My opinion of excellence differs. For example, Toby Keith's acting? SUCKS! Deborah Benson rocks. But then again, I thought Alan Tudyk rocked on Dollhouse and we all saw what happened to that show. I try to write something with substance. Deborah Benson = substance.Read full review
