Legands mode could be alot deeper, they dont give you enough rewards for completeing it. Gameplay I give it a 9.5 rank, (putting still needs more work) Graphics 9.3 rank, (to much extras, like trees moving ect instead of a live crowd or view control of the ball after a shot. Replay 9.7 rank, Lots of PGA tournaments to play in, but could use more replay features. Online play 9.4 rank, could use more security, and a better server, the EA server is very weak! OVERALL 9.6 A great overall game, needs some fine tuning next year. but a for sure buy.
The player customization is awesome! Just spend some time w/ the endless options, and you'll get a player that looks a lot like yourself. Having to gain experience and money to improve your ability keeps you playing the game. I find myself playing more often so I can gain some more distance on my drives and improve the accuracy of my putting. The graphics and physics are true to life, and the mechanics/movements of the players are very well thought out. Having the ability to build a character that looks and swings me puts me that much closer in the game. It's as if it's me playing a round... not just some character that I'm controling. It's a game definitely worth purchasing if you enjoy playing golf and want a lot of control over the player dynamics.
I personally am not much of a golfer (mini-putt, yes) but this is a great game for all types of people to play. The realistics of the game with hook, slice, fade and those type shots are all realistic. The wind and other things also affect your game play and make the game that much more realistic. The graphics are as good as it could be for anyone(those trees though, ugh). Character creation is really well thought out and brilliant. The many possibilities can go on forever and make your golfers not even look the same or even seem the same. You can create your own golfer and go play in the PGA tour with the other golfers. Legends mode is good to keep you satisfied and going. The old time players in rivals mode is good too. Playing through time to finally catch up to Tiger and prove that you're #1 golfer there. The motions of the character are ok but isn't bad. You can create or edit your celebration motions when you hit a good shot or sink in an ace or eagle or birdie. This is what makes other golfing games wilt in shame with the many things that you can do and play in Tiger '06.Read full review
Graphics are great and comparable to '07. Only difference between the two is '07 the trees look better (who cares) and there are a few more golfers and courses. '06 is a good choice if you just want a golf title for the ps2 for a lot less the the 49.99 '07 title. Gameplay is great, takes a little getting use to if first timer on Tiger woods, but easy once use to the controls. Only dislike is when playing season mode, computer shoots unrealisticly if you are playing well.
This is easily the best golf game I've ever come across. Fans of Golden Tee will love the amount of control you have over your shot to create a slice, hook, fade, or any direction spin you want on the ball. The character creation is almost overwhelming, with more options to customize the appearance of your player than are really necessary. The end result is great though, with no two characters looking alike. The course selection is fantastic, ensuring hours and hours of fun without even repeating a course (not necessarily a bad thing considering the selection of courses available). All in all, I can't think of anything this game lacks, and other golf games have lots of catching up to do to just come close with this gem.
