Very useful and fun to learn from!
I bought this CD set to help me learn to speak Japanese for a future trip to Japan and it's very helpful. Most learning tools I've used have focused on reading, writing and general grammar, but this deals with the challenging task of speaking. Other learning tools that focus on speech go very fast and ask you to simply repeat back what you hear, but this set explains you what you're saying and in what context, as well as what to expect to hear in reply. The speakers on the CD can speak very quickly at times but they also give you a breakdown of certain words and phrases one syllable at a time to help you get acquainted with what is being said. It repeats certain terms over the course of the CD set to help you retain earlier lessons. The fact that these are CDs make it very convenient because you can pause while you're trying to pronounce words and phrases until you get them right and can speak with confidence. This is one of my favorite tools for learning Japanese and I hope to buy more sets like it in the future. Each time I finish a lesson I feel excited and motivated to know this language can be learned and used in a practical way. I highly recommend it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
