  • Good thin monitor, but DisplayPort settings are limited.

Got this monitor to replace a 28-inch Hanns-G that was deteriorating. Since it's in a quad-monitor display, needed to fit in both physically and resolution wise. Physically is no problem, it's a small amount larger than the 28-inchers, but it sits on top of the center one quite well. The native HDMI resolution is 1920x1080, whereas my 28-inch monitors are running at 1920x1200. However, the DisplayPort allows you to run up to 2560x1440, so I thought this would work out fine. However, I find that when using the DisplayPort settings above 1920x1080, the picture starts shrinking. Not bad at 1920x1200, and I can use that to match my other monitors OK. But anything larger than that, and the picture size shrinks dramatically, essentially offsetting the reason to have a 32-inch monitor to begin with. What's the use of having 2560x1440 resolution on a 32-inch monitor, if in the process your picture shrinks down to 26 inches or less? So I'm using it at 1920x1200 to match the other monitors, and it shrinks the picture only slightly. I think had I known this limitation, I might have looked for a cheaper 32-inch monitor with native 1920x1080 resolution, and not worried about the extra DisplayPort resolution capability. I may get another one of these monitors to replace another 28-inch that's going bad, but I'd want to find a cheaper price on it, or perhaps just get a 1920x1080 32-inch monitor that would cost 200-250, rather than $340. Picture output is also a bit on the cool side, even after making all the adjustments I could to try to match to my other monitors. Not a big deal, but it doesn't pop quite like my 28-inch monitors do in terms of brightness and color saturation.
