Bitter Apple is AWESOME!!
This stuff is awesome! Not only does it keep your pets from chewing on wires, but there is something about the scent ( which I can not smell, but my cat can) that serves as an aversion to cats going after my fake Christmas tree. I thought I would spray it on some of the lower branches (avoiding the lights, of course) and my cat totally turned his nose up and stayed away. Our Christmas tree remained intact!. This is a nice sized sprayer and works wonders. If your animal chews on things, this is a great thing for cats and ferrets. Bitter apples Really works!
I rescued 2 American Staffordshire Bull Terriers Needless to say they will chew and destroy anything material or not. I stopped that fast as I could buy this type of spray! For Goodness sakes one spray is Not going to do the job. My favorite leather sheepskin slippers I sprayed 3 times before I dared to leave them on the ground. They no longer try. Same thing anything like the side of my sofa! Wake up one morning a chunk out of sofa. Sprayed side 3 times that day. Female Misty took a liking to my wall sheet rock! Spray away. No touch again. With these two chew anything - I made sure I sprayed a recliner, other shoes, rest of sofa etc. I do try to lightly spray all items lightly every 3 weeks now just in case. So do not think it’s a once time thing if you have chewers like my staffies Save your favorites and use this spray. And the Lord knows how much $$$ I also paid in buying cow hooves, antlers etc! They have been my little heathens in teething! Hope this info helps someone! Spray more than once!

won't deter a determined puppy.
well, I wanted to stop my puppy from grabbing the leash. I soaked the lead in a plastic bag overnight to give the product a fair chance. Didn't affect his wish to grab the leash. Might be good in other applications, but didn't work with my leash. Someone mentioned vics vapor rub as being very un appetizing to a puppy...,a bit messy for sure. Interesting concept
My puppy is a very active teether and anything to help him learn what is appripriate is helpful. I wish that I had had this product at the very beginning. Doesn't Last Long
We tried this on two different dogs, both different ages, both different breeds, and both belonging to different people. In both instances the dogs were initially repelled by it, but within 15-20 minutes were no longer bothered by it. Unfortunately, this spray is mostly rubbing alcohol, and I think the taste of that bothers them until it evaporates. One dog that we used it on was an old dog with hotspots, and we were hoping to deter her chewing and licking, but within a day she just became afraid of the bottle and licked again after 20 mins. The other dog was a year old and we hoped to use it to deter her from biting and chewing on us. The spray really only stopped the puppy for about 5 mins at a time, if that. I'm not going to buy it again, because it didn't work for me, but I do recommend it if you have a dog that is sensitive to tastes and smells. Really works
I honestly didn’t think this would work with my dog what so ever because she loved to chew on shoes. Her foster mom recommended bitter apple. I did a couple sprays over my shoe area once a week for 4 weeks and I have never had to spray again, (it’s been almost 8 months now). My dogs habit was completely broken. Works great. My puppy takes one lick of the Bitter Apple and she turns away. Great product for keeping puppies away from things they shouldn't chew. Note: It takes more than just one spray.
