Recently purchased the Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0Hub with Individual Power Switches to replace the same type/model I was currently using. The original one I had for several years; but, recently on an occasion would receive msg on my laptop that it wasn't recognizing one of the ports on the switch I was using all the time where I had a thumb drive inserted. When I purchased the replacement I just plugged the attached USB cable for the Hub into the port on side of my laptop. It loaded the drivers quickly and was able to use the device right away. This item is good for me since I don't have enough USB ports on my laptop; and with the purchase of a printer with a USB connection 2 years ago; I needed xtra USB ports to plug in not only a thumb drive but, also my USB mouse I use too. The item was also purchased (new) at a reasonable price from the seller I bought it from. It is compatible with multiple (Windows) operating-systems Would recommend this Sabrent 4-port USB 3.0 Hub to anyone needing xtra USB ports to use. Just what I was looking for. A convenient way to use several USB devices without having to constantly plug and unplug them. Side loading USB ports are very practical. Blue LED lights indicate visually which port is on or off. I like the way it's designed with a permanent power connector on the base of the unit. Other units have a flimsy, loose removable power cord that often interrupts the electrical connection. This unit's connection is solid and dependable. Highly recommend, Great quality. This is by far the best 3.0 usb hub I have ever used so far. Built well and has options to chose which device you want to charge with a press of a button. Has a small blue light to indicate which port is activated. The buttons feel satisfying to press down. Comes with a 2 year warranty which is cool. This is such a great product just to give that extra usb ports for your devices. Only con is the cord itself is short. Would of liked to have at least 3 to 4 feet. Hope this review helps. Bought several of these, for usb-3 interface, and found that they do work well. However, the cable is way way too-short to use with a regular tower system. Had to tape some to the side of the tower, and only had one which was long enough to tape to the top of the tower, otherwise we could not reach the switch, in a normal destop setting. Had to get extensions for some. Works OK, but a pain to impement and use.

This a true multi-port hub that allows one USB port on your computer to host 4 USB drives/devices. You have to monitor the power usage of devices yourself, but the switches make that easy. Do not be fooled by the cheap "hubs" that are actually only power supplies for charging multiple devices.
