medium and looks nice
i am happy with fan...very quiet 3 speed make it nicer. first time it was hard to figure the installation , after watching a few videos on you tube ... looks very easy . it took me about 20 minutes ..and done ! the only drawback is the chain ...not strong ...and the mechanism a little tricky if you don't know to pull it genteelly back and forth ..it will break . hope they will put a switch (on/off) at the end of the chain ....but it is an excellent fun ..you will love it .

the length of the fan from the light cov...
the length of the fan from the light cover to the ceiling takes up over 12"....this of course takes up height of the ceiling. Older homes do not have 7 or 8'+ ceilings. I guess if you removed the light kit you could have more clearance.
