3 good actors in 1 bad movie
Even excellent actors like Rita Moreno, James MacArthur, and the great Van Heflin could not salvage a low budget, poorly directed and poorly shot movie like Cry of Battle. There was no support for these actors; scenic details did not look like WWII Phillipines, especially the Japanese. It played out like a teenage horror camping trip. The story kept recycling similar events over and over. Poor script, poor directing, poor cinematography and no authenticity of place or time period. Luckily, these actors repaired the damage to their reputation afterwards.
